Micro chipping HIV+ patients in ANY country is a dangerous !!If goverments start doing this,WHO will want to be tested for HIV-AIDs?This can & will set the whole movement back 20 yrs.We have made huge strides in finding meds to fight the hiv virus.Sure we still have a very long way to go,but,we must keep our faith strong & our hope alive,Trust in GOD & we will survive & thrive!Being HIV+ myself,not only is this AGAINST my religeon & beliefs,(666=number of the beast hand or forhead)but i believe this is setting a dangerous precedent.We MUST NOT allow micro-chipping of anyone,let alone those suffering from HIV-Aids.Where is the compassion here?Empathy?Peoples living with hiv are our sisters & brothers,fathers,mothers,aunts & uncles,grandpa's & grandma's!Will we wage WAR on them just because they smoke weed to help stop the nasea,vomiting,pain & generally make life alot easier to live with HIV-AIDs.PEACE N LOVE NOT WARS N WALLS EH FOLS!!!

So ya we all have em,these strange things we call feelings.They can be good,love,or they can be bad=Hate!& a whole complex set of inbetween stuff as well!The learning & growing experience i will hold for a long time to come.I was honoured to be amoung ontario's best PLWHA's,all WARRIOR'S TRUE!!!I had my share of misfortune in my life,but so have all of the other peoples that are taking this training.Thomas Egdorf should be so very proud-as this was his dream & it has taken off & taken flight on its own!More funding is an issue of course,but,hopefully the GOV will see a great program if they bother to look that is!Well i am heading back to suds tomorrow & will be attending the Cancle light vigil i hope.PEACE N LOVE NOT WARS N WALLS EH FOLKS!!!

Desperate HIV+ Men Try Sleeping With Virgens 4 Cure!!!

Virgin cleansing—the belief that people who have a sexually transmitted disease can rid themselves of the condition by transferring the infective organism by having sexual intercourse with a virgin—has been discussed in The Lancet in relation to HIV/AIDS. The practice was first reported in the 16th century in relation to syphilis and gonorrhoea in Europe. Although the prevalence of virgin cleansing is unclear, accounts of the belief are reported from sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. We have identified a variation of this practice in our Global Survey on HIV/AIDS and Disability that warrants attention—“virgin rape” of individuals with disability, by people who believe themselves positive for HIV. Although the evidence for virgin rape of infants and young children has been debated, we have identified numerous reports of rape of individuals who are blind, deaf, physically impaired, intellectually disabled, or who have mental-health disabilities. The belief that sex with an individual who is disabled can rid one of a sexually transmitted disease is an old one. According to Smith, brothels in Victorian England were “stocked with intellectually disabled ‘virgins’ because it was believed that a syphilitic man could lose the infection by having sex with them”. Individuals with disability are presumably at risk both because they are, incorrectly, often assumed to be sexually inactive, hence virgins, and because they might be easy targets. Even before the advent of AIDS, women and men with disability suffered an equal, or up to three times greater, risk of rape by a stranger or acquaintance, than their non-disabled peers. Many individuals with disability are physically vulnerable. Some must relegate part or all of their care to attendants, family members, or others, or live in institutions; situations in which abuse is rife worldwide. Additionally some researchers argue that individuals with disability are often psychologically vulnerable. Nosek et al, for example, suggest that overprotection and internalised societal expectations make women with disability more vulnerable to psychological pressure for sex and intimacy. Womendez and Schneiderman note that young disabled individuals have few opportunities to learn to set boundaries for physical contact. Studies from the UK report that men with intellectual disabilities who live in the community are often pressured into having sex with non-disabled men whom they meet in public toilets; participating because they are lonely and anxious to please their new supposed friends. A variation of this practice has been reported by six women with disabilities from southern Europe and North America who responded to our survey with reports that they had slept with men from Africa and south Asia. These women believed they were in long-term relationships, but stated they later learned that the relationships had been started because their partners assumed them to be virgins, capable of ridding them of their infection. The men did not inform the women of their HIV status and abandoned them once these women began to show symptoms of infection with the virus. Individuals with disability are also at increased risk of virgin rape because of a lack of legal protection. Police, lawyers, judges, and even rape-crisis counsellors often have no knowledge of how to help people with a disability. Officials often dismiss individuals with disability who report rape, assuming them to be confused or victims of a misunderstanding. In many countries, people with disability are not allowed to submit police reports, take oaths, or give testimony in court. Police stations and courts are often inaccessible, lacking sign-language interpreters, ramps, and support systems for individuals with intellectual impairments or mental-health disabilities. Because of these barriers, reporting of sexual abuse by individuals with disability is infrequent, and perpetrators can expect to go unpunished. Low rates of reporting not only have legal implications but can mean that potential antiretroviral prophylaxis is not made available to disabled men and women. Although no epidemiological data are available, interviews with disability advocates and service providers, as well as a review of published reports, found reports of virgin rape of disabled individuals in association with HIV/AIDS in 14 of the 21 countries reviewed. Moreover, in 12 of those 14 countries, from sub-Saharan Africa, south and southeast Asia, North America, and Europe, more and more such rapes have been reported over the past 5 years. For example, the Downs Syndrome Association of South Africa reports this problem as now being a serious concern among the young people with whom they work. Additionally, field studies in conjunction with our survey elicited many personal accounts of this practice. A wheelchair user from southern Africa, for instance, reported being raped three times within a month by men in her neighbourhood who believed themselves HIV positive. The woman interviewed stated that several disabled women in her township had experienced similar assaults. Research is needed to ascertain how widespread the problem of virgin rape is among people with disabilities, and what legal, social, and medical interventions can be implemented. Training is needed for medical personnel, police, and judges to make them aware of the issue and more knowledgeable about how to serve individuals with disabilities. Educational campaigns are also needed to inform individuals with disabilities and their families about the risk, and to debunk the myth of virgin cleansing within the general population. Authors:1. When i started getting flu like symptom's in 2001,i knew that along with night-sweats & rapid weight-loss,that i was poz.I went to get tested to prove to myself that i was right-which i was=i was "reactive"to the HIV anti-body test!At the time i was still useing coke,heroin & speed & i just went deeper into depression untill i hit bottom living on elgin st.I finally signed into detox wen 2 weeks later i would find out my oldestchild was facing death sooner then i woulld be!HPV-had not gone undetected but the Dr could not get in touch with my daughter so the cancer spread unchecked.Flash forward 4 yrs & this time it's my mom,brain tumor operation she had 15 yrs earlier hadn't been successfull after all,& it had spread untill it was so big that there was nothing that could be done.She has been dead 4 months now.Steven was the only benefactor in mom's death,recieving a paltry 7000.U C claude hadn't kept up the payments,so mom's life insurence was defaulted= 0.Guess she paid into it for along time & it turnes out the insurence co is the only one to gain as they dont have to pay nothing .This prob happens alot i am guessing.Gary is not speaking to me at all.Steven seem's cold & distant,he feels no guilt in what he did at all.I forgive him,after all i would have got a g,big deal.For the life of my mother?No,i dont want any blood money ,and now the plates that we were all supposed to get are still not being handed out.Guess Claude is drinking again,so,all in all,my mom would be very disapointed in each & everyone of us i think,ron not shaving or getting a hair cut,gary cutting his hair abit,not talkin to me,mike at the funeral parlar freakin out about dad.Then in the limo all hell almost broke out untill...at the last second i stepped in & got them to stop all the BS.All that was 4 months ago now,gary & i still havent talked & it doesnt look like thats going to change anytime soon.He has gone over to the Dark Side!She is a witch=wiccan ,not that i have anything against wiccan's as i believe all men R free to worship the deity of their own choice,but,the christian ,muslim faiths belive in Jesus as the Christ,as do i!PEACE N LOVE TO YOU ALL,& IF THERE R ANY SINGLE MOM'S THAT WOULD LIKE TO GET IN TOUCH,JUST CONTACT ME.hAVE A GREAT DAY EH FOLKS!PEACE N LOVE NOT WARS N WALLS EH PEOPLES~!!!!SAFE SEX WORKS GREAT~~!!!!

HIV WARRIOR COMMITS LIFE TO CREATEING MORE FRONT LINES OF ATTACK ON HIV-AIDS!!!

No one knows why Frisco resident Glenn Kopanski is still alive, including him.In the time the AIDS survivor has left, he is devoting his life to educating young people about the disease.While on active duty in the United States Navy Kopanski was wounded in a bombing in Beirut in 1983. While being treated for his injuries a doctor advised him to have a tonsillectomy because of the chronic upper respiratory infections he suffered.While performing the tonsillectomy the doctor nicked an artery, making a blood transfusion necessary. That was before anyone knew that donated blood could carry the HIV virus or hepatitis C microbes.The young serviceman contracted both diseases from that tainted blood transfusion.It took four months for symptoms much more serious than upper respiratory infections to appear. He was diagnosed with what later became known as AIDS, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.Kopanski is the 18th longest surviving AIDS patient in the United States. He said none of his doctors has ever offered an explanation for his longevity. He said he believes his sheer determination to live an active life and to help educate people about AIDS could be part of the reason.When cytomegalovirus (CMV) confined him to a wheelchair a few years ago, he eventually taught himself to walk again. He refused to take the doctors seriously who told him he would never be able to walk again.He spoke to students at Griffin Middle School earlier this month and will speak to students at Clark and Fowler middle schools in the near future.“There is such a spirit out there for wanting to know about AIDS,” Kopanski said. “These kids are going to be helpless out there. Let’s educate them and then maybe we’ll see the number of new cases go down.”He said students listen to him intently. He usually brings along many of the medications he has to take every day. Someone usually asks if he has encountered any prejudice because he has AIDS.He tells them about a neighbor he had in Lewisville who put up signs in the yard that said, “No AIDS on my lawn.”Shortly after he was diagnosed with the disease, his fiancee left him because she questioned how he contracted the disease. He said people have refused to go near him for fear of getting AIDS.He educates students that it is impossible to contract the disease from a blood transfusion now the way he did because blood is tested for those diseases. He also tells them that young people between the ages of 12 and 25 make up the highest number of new AIDS cases in Collin and Denton counties.Since being diagnosed with AIDS Kopanski has chosen to live a celibate life to avoid putting anyone else at risk. He tells young people to know the person they are dating very well.Kopanski is also on the board of directors of AIDS Services of North Texas as well as a patient advocate for the organization. He also writes a landscape column for a local electronic newsletter.“My key to survival is staying motivated,” he said. “I want to bring AIDS awareness to the city of Frisco by fighting this disease through education. I want to tell young kids what I’ve been through in my life. I also want to stop the hatred. AIDS education can beat a cure any day. It’s living life responsibly and knowing your partner. The decision by Judge Barry Strayer, released late Thursday, essentially grants medical marijuana users more freedom in picking their own grower and allows growers to supply the drug to more than one patient. It's also another blow to the federal government, whose attempts to tightly control access to medical marijuana have prompted numerous court challenges. Currently, medical users can grow their own pot but growers can't supply the drug to more than one user at a time. Lawyers for medical users argued that restriction effectively established Health Canada as the country's sole legal provider of medical marijuana. They also said the restriction was unfair, and that it prevented seriously ill Canadians from obtaining the drug they needed to treat their debilitating illnesses. In his decision, Strayer called the provision unconstitutional and arbitrary, as it "caused individuals a major difficulty with access…" Ottawa must also reconsider requests made by a group of medical users who brought the matter to court to have a single outside supplier as their designated producer, Strayer said in his 23-page decision. While the government has argued that medical users who can't grow their own marijuana can obtain it from its contract manufacturer, fewer than 20 per cent of patients actually use the government's supply, Strayer wrote. "In my view it is not tenable for the government, consistently with the right established in other courts for qualified medical users to have reasonable access to marijuana, to force them either to buy from the government contractor, grow their own or be limited to the unnecessarily restrictive system of designated producers," he wrote. Ron Marzel, a Toronto lawyer representing the group of medical users who brought the matter before the Federal Court, called the decision a "great remedy" for his clients. "All this means is that the limit — the one-to-one ratio — it's the last nail in the coffin for that ratio," he said in an interview. "The court has said, 'Look, unequivocally, this is unconstitutional, it's arbitrary. All the reasons you've provided us with so far for this one-to-one ratio, they don't pass muster. We don't buy it, we don't accept it."'
